Worked with a library colleague to adapt this survey for our users at PC. 444 survey respondents. Used the results to inform our use of library technologies including digital reference serve, apps, and mobile technology.
Building Survey
Helped to design, deliver and analyze a building use and effectiveness survey.
WOREP

Assessment of Student Learning
Brief Response
Short, 2 question assessment to ascertain student satisfaction with a session. Can be used by all librarians.
What Did You Learn?
Students self-report what they learned regarding each major theme from a particular information literacy session: already knew it, learned a little, or learned a lot.
In-Class Activities
Take pictures of work done on the whiteboard or collect handouts used by students during class. Analyze results to confirm effectiveness and modify instruction delivery as needed. This is an example of mind mapping (visual brainstorm) to assist with topic selection.
Flip Chart
Deployed an informal survey instrument - flip charts with markers asking for feedback. Ask questions about student experiences in library spaces and watch the flip charts fill up with responses. Be sure to let students know that you are implementing their feedback, i.e. post actions taken to address issues in the entrance - we heard you!
Online Tutorials Assessment
Pre and post assessment questions that match the various skills and objectives addressed in the online tutorials. Delivered to over 600 bioscience students. Treatment groups include students with library instruction only, students with tutorials only, and students with instruction AND tutorials. Data show that students who received both treatments showed the most improved post assessment scores = the tutorials help!
